Résumé
Non-publié.
The purpose of this study is to identify the teaching practices of FSL teachers as well as the factors that influence these practices. Six FSL teachers, two in grade 8, two in grade 11 and two in grade 12, were observed for three classes, filled out a questionnaire, and were interviewed. The data were analyzed following H.H. Stern's taxonomy by attempting to locate the teachers' practices on the continua that he elaborated. Three of the six teachers use teaching practices that are rather analytical and teacher centered, and do large group activities whereas the other three teachers use teaching practices that are rather experiential and student centered, with small group activities. The majority of the teachers use cross-linguistic practices. The majority of the teachers in this study are mainly influenced by the factors related to the students in choosing their practices, especially their fields of interests and their motivations.
