The goal of the project is to update and expand upon the analyses presented in the reports Là où le nombre le justifie… Petite enfance et autonomie culturelle (Landry, 2003) (Landry, 2003) and Libérer le potentiel caché de l’exogamie (Landry, 2010) using data from the 2021 Census and the Survey of the Official Language Minority Population (SOLMP) 2022, in order to better understand contemporary dynamics of language transmission in Francophone minority communities. We will also document family practices related to language transmission, parental choices regarding early childhood services, and their links to the language trajectories of young children in Francophone minority communities nationwide.
