Abstract
By analysing data from the Survey of the Official Language Minority Population (SOLMP), this research project will provide an overview of the linguistic situation of the Francophone minority population ten years on from the ICRML’s analysis of the 2006 Survey on the Vitality of Official-Language Minorities (SVOLM). Our project will result in an open-access collective work presenting analyses on various themes such as immigration, the labour market, geographical mobility, arts and culture, the media, health, community participation, sense of belonging, perceived vitality, early childhood and education. Analyses may focus on specific segments of the population (women, young people, older adults, people of immigrant origin). A comparative analysis between communities will be conducted, as well as a comparative analysis between the two post-census surveys to understand changes in the linguistic situation.
