Abstract
This article presents the results of a qualitative research on the health of women living in poverty in rural francophone regions of New Brunswick. The quilt metaphor was used to illustrate the coping strategies that they develop when facing health issues. The findings raise collective and political concerns, as women’s poverty is not an individual problem, but a social phenomenon that requires structural changes in a context where the social safety net is inadequate.
