Abstract
This Standing Committee report examines the effect of the cancellation of the Court Challenges Program on the vitality of official-language minority communities. It analyzes positions taken by witnesses on main issues that have arisen since the program was cancelled including access to justice, government consultations on matters affecting the communities, neutrality, and transparency. The committee considered five options, and the majority of the members recommended reinstating the program. Includes a dissenting opinion.
