Abstract
This report presents the results of a study that looks at casual employees of the federal public service hired between April 1, 1995, and March 31, 2005, and tracked through March 31, 2006, who subsequently became term or indeterminate employees. The report gives statistics on employment categories, organization size, location, language groups, and the rapidity of transition to permanent employment. It also provides background information and describes the study methodology.
