Abstract
This study was undertaken to address complaints about federal institutions' failure to use the official language minority press when placing advertisements. It shows that the failure can be attributed to inadequate policies or guidelines, the absence of monitoring and control, and lack of adequate planning. The study concludes by recommending actions that will help federal institutions to equip managers with the information and tools they require to comply with official language obligations in advertising.
