Abstract
This study, published by the Office of the Commissioner of Official Languages, follows up the previous study The Government of Canada and French on the Internet . It examines the current use of French on the Internet , and reviews changes both in Internet technology and in the way people use the Internet. It focuses on three strategic initiatives: development of a critical mass of French-language content on the Internet; development of French-language service industries; and Canadian foreign policy issues. It proposes a review process and makes 19 recommendations aimed at supporting Canadian linguistic duality on the Internet.
