Abstract
This report is an examination of the mechanisms introduced by electoral boundary commissions and Elections Canada to help meet linguistic obligations in electoral boundary readjustment processes. The report’s 10 recommendations aim to ensure that by the next electoral boundaries redistribution all official language minority communities receive the protection to which they are entitled and that the electoral boundary commissions consider the development of these communities in their work.
