Statistics Canada conducted two post-census surveys in 2006 and 2022 to analyse the linguistic situation of official language minority communities (OLMCs). These surveys aim to provide data to better understand the situation of OLMCs and assist researchers, community organizations and decision-makers in their language-related decision-making. This project will analyse data from the 2022 Survey of the Official Language Minority Population (SOLM) and compare it with data from the 2006 Survey of the Vitality of Official Language Minorities (SVOLM). A comprehensive, unprecedented analysis will be conducted to provide a complete and up-to-date picture of OLMCs, comparing the 2022 data with that from 2006.
