Florent Michelot
Florent Michelot has been an assistant professor of educational technology at Concordia University since 2024 and an associate professor at the Université de Moncton. Previously, he served as an academic advisor at the Université de Montréal and was a professor at the Université de Moncton’s Shippagan campus (New Brunswick).
He holds degrees in law and political science and earned a Ph.D. in andragogy from the University of Montreal. His research focuses on technological disruptions in postsecondary education, the development of so-called “21st-century” skills in digital contexts (critical thinking, information, digital, and media literacy), and the environmental impacts of educational technologies and online disinformation.
As a research associate at GRIIPTIC, he contributed to the preparatory work for the Government of Quebec’s Digital Competency Framework. As a member of the International Observatory on the Societal Impacts of AI and Digital Technology, he co-edited, with Simon Collin (UQAM), La compétence numérique en contexte éducatif. Regards croisés et perspectives internationales (PUQ, 2024), bringing together some forty authors from Quebec, Canada, the United States, and Europe.
