Martin Normand has been President and CEO of the Association des collèges et universités de la francophonie canadienne (ACUFC) since October 2024. Previously, he held the position of Director of Strategic Research and International Relations within the association for 3 years, then served as Interim President and CEO for 5 months. Among other things, he piloted the États généraux sur le postsecondaire en contexte francophone minoritaire, a major pan-Canadian consultation process that led to a final report proposing solutions to ensure the sustainability of post-secondary institutions. Francopresse named him one of the most influential figures in the Canadian Francophonie for 2022. He was a postdoctoral fellow at the University of Ottawa's School of Political Studies, where he also coordinated the Groupe de recherche interdisciplinaire sur les pratiques d'offre active de services en français. He holds a doctorate in political science from the Université de Montréal. His research and publications have focused on language policies in Canada and the mobilization of linguistic minorities.
